Electrical Distribution Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania .


Overview


This role involves planning, engineering, and designing electric and gas distribution systems, including work package development, field engineering, and post-construction reviews. The position focuses on ensuring reliable power delivery while balancing economic, environmental, social, and regulatory constraints.


Responsibilities

• Plan, engineer, and design electric and gas distribution systems
• Determine needs, size, location, and timing of power infrastructure development
• Develop work packages for overhead, underground residential distribution, and underground cable/conduit
• Perform field engineering and project requirement assessments
• Identify conflicting utilities and conduct engineering and design calculations
• Perform post-construction reviews of projects
• Work on day-to-day objectives with limited impact beyond own work area or project team
• Follow established procedures and policies to solve routine technical problems
• Develop products, solutions, and processes using basic principles and concepts within own technical specialty
• Communicate with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices related to the area

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Less than 2 years of prior relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts of a narrow technical domain
