Wastewater Project Engineer

Woodard & Curran is a national engineering, science and operations firm focused on clean water, safe environments and healthy communities. We invite experienced engineers to join our Water Infrastructure team to deliver high‑quality water, wastewater and recycled water services to municipal clients across the United States. The role requires expertise in environmental engineering, water and wastewater treatment, and solid or nutrient removal technologies. Experience with design documentation, contract documents for bidding and construction, and construction oversight is essential. Flexible Hybrid Work Schedule available from our Tampa, Florida office. Travel up to 10% local travel may be required. Projects Municipal wastewater systems including collection infrastructure, pumping hydraulics, and treatment processes. Biosolids and renewable energy development. Drinking water distribution and treatment systems. Key Responsibilities Coordinate work of junior engineers and manage project schedules and budgets. Maintain proactive communication with the project team and stakeholders. Lead the design or portions of the design for water and wastewater projects. Coordinate multidisciplinary work (civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, geotech, survey, etc.) internally and with subcontractors. Perform Construction Administration tasks: submittal reviews, RFIs, payment applications. Use AutoCAD to guide design drawing production. Make engineering decisions with appropriate oversight. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project needs professionally and reliably. Mentor and review technical work of engineers under supervision. Engage external suppliers and subcontractors for quoting and materials. Represent the firm to clients and interact on construction sites as needed. Coordinate with contractors and clients during construction to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings. Interface with local and state regulatory agencies. Assist in proposal development and new business pursuits. Participate in professional organizations. Qualifications 4–9 years of engineering experience in water or wastewater. B.S. Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering. Registered Professional Engineer preferred or the ability to obtain a Florida P.E. license within one year.
