LOCATION: Preferred location in Florida; flexible within the state WHAT YOU'LL DO The Manager, Statewide Operations & Executive Strategy provides high-level executive support, operational leadership, statewide office management, and strategic coordination. Sitting at the intersection of strategy and execution, this role ensures the Executive Director is exceptionally prepared and focused on the organization's highest priorities while strengthening the systems and operations that enable teams across Florida to achieve ambitious outcomes. You are eager to deepen your judgment, build and refine systems in partnership with others, and take increasing ownership as your expertise grows. You will report to and work closely with the Managing Director, Board Strategy & Executive Initiatives, who will serve as a strategic advisor, coach, and developmental thought partner, particularly as you deepen your executive support capabilities. You will build a close working relationship with the Executive Director to provide increasingly proactive and strategic support and partner with the Vice President of Statewide Operations to strengthen statewide systems and execution. Across these workstreams, you will bring initiative, discretion, adaptability, and strong follow-through to advance Teach For America Florida's mission and strategic priorities. WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Executive Strategy & Support (65%) Serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Director, providing the structure, judgment, discretion, and day-to-day support needed to operate effectively across a complex, fast-moving organization. Strategically manage the Executive Director's calendar, time, and attention, aligning priorities with organizational goals, critical relationships, emerging opportunities, and competing demands while serving as a thoughtful and confident gatekeeper. Anticipate the Executive Director's needs and stay several steps ahead by proactively identifying upcoming decisions, deadlines, risks, and opportunities and taking initiative to ensure appropriate preparation and follow-through. Prepare executive communications, briefings, presentations, reports, and meeting materials that synthesize complex information, surface key decisions, and support effective leadership and stakeholder engagement. Own executive operations with exceptional organization, accuracy, and follow-through, including scheduling, travel, expenses, meeting preparation, correspondence, and coordination. Build and maintain systems that ensure commitments, decisions, and important details do not fall through the cracks. Serve as a strategic thought partner who quickly develops a deep understanding of the Executive Director's priorities, preferences, and ways of working; implements feedback effectively; navigates the organization with confidence; and helps translate priorities into clear action and accountability. Work closely with the Managing Director, Board Strategy & Executive Initiatives, who will serve as the role of manager, advisor, and developmental thought partner. Partner to build and refine the systems, practices, and judgment required for exceptional executive support, with an expectation of growing independence, strategic ownership, and decision-making over time. Partner with regional and organizational teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives that strengthen Teach For America Florida's visibility, brand, and stakeholder engagement. Lead the strategy and execution of regional events, campaigns, and special projects, coordinating across teams and driving initiatives from concept through implementation to advance regional priorities and impact. Statewide Operations and Logistics (25%) Serve as a strategic operations partner to the Vice President of Statewide Operations, helping translate statewide priorities into effective plans, systems, and execution. Partner with the Vice President of Statewide Operations to build, strengthen, and continuously refine operational systems and processes that increase effectiveness, consistency, and coordination across Teach For America Florida. Lead operational planning and execution for statewide retreats, team convenings, and priority projects, translating goals into clear plans and coordinating the people, timelines, resources, and logistics required for successful execution. Partner with the development team to plan and execute fundraising events in Jacksonville, South Florida, Tallahassee, and Tampa Bay, ensuring strong coordination, a positive stakeholder experience, and efficient operational execution. Manage workplace operations across Teach For America Florida's offices and shared workspaces, including facilities, technology, vendor relationships, meeting logistics, and office systems, to ensure team members and stakeholders experience welcoming, productive, and high-functioning environments that support statewide collaboration and organizational goals. Coordinate and manage operational aspects of statewide initiatives, including budget tracking, procurement, scheduling, logistics, and implementation support. Support cross-functional projects and high-priority organizational initiatives by bringing structure to complex or evolving work and ensuring timelines, deliverables, decisions, and stakeholder communications remain on track. Agile Florida and Enterprise Support (10%) Participate in select enterprise and cross-functional projects, including ICM admissions, selection, and matriculation, contributing strong project management, collaboration, and execution beyond the primary workstreams. Staff large-scale regional events, such as All-Corps, Corps Member Orientation, and Summer Training, which may require full-day or multi-day participation. Participate in events and priorities across teams, including regional retreats, regional staff meetings, and other opportunities that advance shared organizational goals. Take on additional workstreams and special projects as organizational needs and opportunities emerge, applying strong judgment, adaptability, and project leadership to move work from ambiguity toward clear plans and effective execution. A WEEK IN THE LIFE In a typical week, you may strategically manage the Executive Director's calendar and priorities; develop an agenda, talking points, or briefing materials for an important meeting; coordinate a statewide team convening; and move a cross-functional project from planning to execution. You may oversee travel, expenses, budgets, workplace needs, or event logistics while also anticipating upcoming decisions, ensuring commitments are followed through, and helping translate leadership priorities into action. You will regularly shift between meticulous operational execution and higher‑level strategic support, using sound judgment to determine what needs attention, what can be handled independently, and when to engage others for context, input, or decisions. You will work closely with the Managing Director, Board Strategy & Executive Initiatives to deepen your executive support capabilities, strengthen your judgment, and build and refine systems that enable the Executive Director to operate effectively. You will also partner with the Vice President of Statewide Operations and colleagues across Florida to strengthen statewide operations and advance shared priorities. Across these workstreams, you will be expected to learn quickly, take increasing ownership, and create the organization, preparation, and follow-through that allow leaders and teams to operate at their best. YOUR EXPERIENCE Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications): Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. At least 2 years of professional experience in operations, executive support, project management, administration, organizational effectiveness, or a related field. Experience supporting senior leaders, executives, or leadership teams in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, competing priorities, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and follow-through. Strong operational and systems‑thinking mindset, with the ability to design, improve, and manage processes that increase organizational effectiveness and execution. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information, communicate context and priorities clearly, and tailor messaging to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and effectively manage sensitive information and executive‑level relationships. Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, anticipating challenges, and independently driving solutions to completion. High level of comfort working behind the scenes to enable leaders and teams to achieve ambitious goals, while maintaining a service‑oriented and collaborative approach. Proficiency with AI systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Google Workspace, Canva, and other project management and collaboration tools; ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel periodic throughout Florida in support of organizational priorities, meetings, and events. YOUR COMPENSATION The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost‑of‑labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job‑related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, and market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the minimum and the salary range, depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
