Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift travel position at an acute care hospital in Alexandria, LA.

Job Details

• Inpatient respiratory therapy department within an acute care hospital setting,
• Adult patient population,
• Night shift hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• Every other weekend required,
• No on-call requirement,
• 13-week contract with temp-to-perm potential,

Job Requirements

• Current RRT credential issued by the NBRC required,
• Active RT or RCP license in the state of employment required, if applicable,
• BLS certification via AHA required,
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience,
• US Social Security Number required for consideration,
• Two professional references required for consideration,
• Copies of all active certifications required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include emergency code response, airway management (nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning), aerosolized drug delivery, ventilator setup and management, BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen delivery and monitoring, blood gas collection and analysis, EKG analysis, chest film analysis, and thorough documentation,
• Advanced practice responsibilities may include therapeutic gas management (INO, HeO2), pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, desaturation studies, polysomnography, and patient transport duties,
• RRTs may serve in a Shift Leader or Team Leader capacity,
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
