Senior Staff Accountant

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting functions of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, expertise in month-end close activities, audit support, account reconciliations, and accounts payable processes. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including the preparation and review of journal entries and supporting schedules.
  
• Assist with the annual external audit and provide required documentation and support to auditors.
  
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, accrual schedules, prepaid expense schedules, and other supporting workpapers.
  
• Research and analyze account variances and provide detailed explanations to management.
  
• Reconcile fixed assets, investment accounts, and other assigned balance sheet accounts.
  
• Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  

Accounts Payable Support

• Provide accounts payable coverage as needed, including reviewing approved invoices and employee expense reports for proper coding and supporting documentation.
  
• Validate and reconcile Concur expense imports and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.
  
• Prepare and review payment batches to ensure timely vendor payments.
  
• Assist with vendor account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  

Process Improvement & Documentation

• Maintain accounting procedures, process documentation, and Sage Intacct accounting records.
  
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
  
• Assist with special projects, ad hoc reporting, and financial analysis as requested.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  
• Experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  
• Experience with Sage Intacct and Concur required.
  
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $38.00 per hour
