Junior Safety and Occupational Health Analyst

Position Description Summary APT Research is hiring a Junior Safety and Occupational Health Analyst in Huntsville, AL to support MDA on our MAPSS Safety contract. Responsibilities Experience in job hazard, risk assessment and other analytical techniques sufficient to identify and evaluate program areas involving high risk, new or revised operations, hazardous materials, and other adverse conditions. Experience in accident and mishap investigation and reporting requirements and techniques. Experience in construction standards, practices, techniques, materials, equipment, and utility systems sufficient to determine compliance with building safety standards, and ability to develop effective controls of work and equipment hazards resulting from new construction or modification of current facilities. Experience in the basic concepts, methods, and techniques used by environmentalists, industrial hygienists, safety engineers, fire prevention specialists, and personnel in other safety and occupational health specialty areas. Experience in the standards, methods, practices, and techniques applicable to industrial processes and operations. Experience applying environmental principles, practices, procedures and laws pertinent to hazardous chemicals and toxic waste. Skill in oral and written communications to prepare, present, explain and defend technical reports, briefings or technical material. Education and Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant safety and occupational health roles. Security Clearance Requirement Must have a SECRET level clearance or higher. Essential Job Functions Work Environment: Office environment; requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written; ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers. Travel Requirements: Requires ability to travel domestically (within the U.S.) Physical Requirements: Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a workstation/desk. Other Essential Functions: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgment; work attire must be appropriate and not impose a safety risk or hazard to the employee or others.
