Staff Accountant

New Lenox, IL | Remote (In-office as needed, approximately 1–2 times per month) Looking to move beyond a traditional Staff Accountant role? Working closely with the CFO, you'll play a key role in month-end close, cash management, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: Own daily and monthly cash and bank reconciliations across multiple accounts Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Maintain fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with internal financial reporting and management reporting Partner with operations, billing, and leadership to resolve accounting issues Support annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP Identify opportunities to automate processes and strengthen internal controls Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or CPA candidate preferred 2–5 years of accounting experience (public accounting or industry) Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close Experience with high-volume cash and bank reconciliations ERP or accounting software experience (QuickBooks is a plus) Transportation, logistics, fleet, distribution, manufacturing, or other high-volume environments Supporting external audits Process improvement and internal controls #J-18808-Ljbffr Buckingham Search
