Employee Relations Specialist
United Global Technologies
Employee Relations & Engagement Specialist – Part-Time United Global Technologies (UGT) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–12:00 PM Employment Type: Part-Time Hours: Approximately 17.5 hours per week Position Summary United Global Technologies (UGT) is seeking a personable, proactive, and highly relationship-oriented Employee Relations & Engagement Specialist to help strengthen the connection between UGT and our employees. UGT employees support projects and clients across multiple locations, and we believe maintaining strong relationships with our people is critical to both employee satisfaction and successful project delivery. This position is not intended to be a traditional administrative HR role. The primary purpose is to know our employees, understand how they are doing, stay connected to their project experience, support them during onboarding, and make sure they continue to feel part of UGT throughout their employment. The ideal person naturally enjoys talking with people, building relationships, listening, following up, and identifying concerns before they become larger issues. Key Responsibilities Employee Engagement & Relationship Management Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with UGT employees. Conduct regular employee check-ins to understand how individuals are doing personally and professionally. Ask employees about their project experience, workload, client environment, team relationships, and overall satisfaction. Ensure employees working remotely or at client locations remain connected to UGT. Recognize employee milestones, accomplishments, anniversaries, and other opportunities for engagement. Identify employees who may need additional support, communication, or leadership involvement. Serve as an approachable and trusted point of contact for employees. Project & Employee Experience Regularly connect with employees regarding how their client assignments and projects are progressing. Identify emerging concerns involving projects, managers, client environments, workload, communication, or employee satisfaction. Escalate significant concerns to appropriate UGT leadership. Follow up with employees after concerns are raised to ensure issues have been addressed. Help UGT leadership maintain visibility into employee sentiment and the overall health of the workforce. Identify patterns or recurring concerns that may require broader organizational attention. Onboarding & New Employee Engagement Engage with new employees during the onboarding process and help create a welcoming introduction to UGT. Conduct early-stage check-ins with new employees after they begin their assignments. Ensure new employees understand who to contact within UGT when they need assistance. Help employees become familiar with UGT's culture, expectations, resources, and communication channels. Coordinate with Operations, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and leadership when onboarding questions or concerns arise. Employee Communication & Follow-Up Maintain an organized schedule of employee touchpoints and follow-ups. Document relevant employee feedback, concerns, and action items. Ensure employees receive timely responses when questions or issues are raised. Communicate employee trends and significant concerns to UGT leadership. Assist with employee surveys, engagement initiatives, internal communications, and other employee-experience activities. Help ensure employees do not feel that the only time they hear from UGT is when there is an administrative need or a problem. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means UGT leadership has a stronger understanding of what is happening across its workforce, while employees feel genuinely connected to the company. The Employee Relations & Engagement Specialist should be able to answer questions such as: How is this employee doing? How is their project going? Are they satisfied with their assignment? Are there issues developing that UGT should know about? Does the employee feel connected to UGT? Have we followed up on previous concerns? Are our new employees having a positive onboarding experience? Ultimately, this position should help UGT identify concerns earlier, improve employee retention, strengthen relationships, and create a better overall employee experience. Qualifications Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Comfortable initiating conversations and engaging with a wide variety of personalities. Excellent listening and communication skills. Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential employee information. Highly organized with strong follow-up skills. Ability to recognize when an employee concern requires escalation. Comfortable working independently while regularly communicating with company leadership. Experience in employee relations, human resources, recruiting, account management, employee engagement, customer success, or another relationship-focused position preferred. Professional, positive, approachable, and genuinely interested in people. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who naturally builds relationships and remembers what is happening in people's lives and careers. They are comfortable picking up the phone simply to ask an employee, "How are you doing, and how are things going on your project?" They listen carefully, follow through on commitments, recognize when something does not sound right, and make employees feel that UGT knows who they are and values their contribution. This individual should have a strong service mindset and understand that employee engagement is more than sending emails or conducting surveys—it is about consistently building relationships with people. #J-18808-Ljbffr United Global Technologies
