Staff Accountant – Warrenton

The Staff Accountant must be able to multitask, enjoy working in a small office environment with the ability to interact with staff (at all levels), remain flexible, be proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Job Description:
Accounts Payable
- Ensure timely and accurate processing and entry of vendor invoices.
- Request W-9s from vendors as required.
- Process weekly check runs.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare, review, and submit daily/weekly invoices.
- Data entry into accounts receivable system.
- Reconcile payments to pending Accounts Receivables.
General
- Collaborate with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Controller.
Skills/Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in similar role or combination of related experience.
- Experience with billing highly preferred.
- Experience with Sage preferred.
- Effective problem-solving skills to identify and correct financial discrepancies.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills; proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work on a team and independently.
- Self-starter with initiative to learn new skills.
- Positive work ethic.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with accounting department and other colleagues.
Job Type: Full-time. This is an in-office position in Warrenton, VA.
Hourly Rate: $25/hour plus benefits
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
