Director of Engineering

HTI is recruiting for a Director of Engineering on behalf of a growing manufacturing organization in the Greenville area. What We Offer Opportunity to join a stable and growing manufacturing organization High-impact leadership role with visibility across the business Collaborative and team-oriented culture Ability to directly influence operational performance and engineering strategy Fast-paced environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement Cross-functional leadership exposure across Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Production Long-term growth and leadership development opportunities What You Need Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience) 10+ years of engineering leadership experience within metal manufacturing Strong background in manufacturing engineering, design engineering, and process optimization Experience supporting welding, fabrication, machining, forming, and assembly operations Proven ability to lead technical and cross-functional teams Experience with ERP/MRP systems (AS400 preferred) CAD proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar platforms Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred What Your Role Will Look Like Lead Engineering, Tooling, and Quality functions across the organization Drive Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFA) initiatives Partner with Operations to improve manufacturing efficiency and production performance Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing and quality issues Oversee BOMs, routings, drawings, and ECN/ECR processes Champion Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Lead process improvements across welding, forming, machining, fabrication, and finishing operations Support capital improvement and operational excellence projects Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal leadership teams Develop engineering talent and build accountability across technical teams Additional Details Location: Greenville, SC Travel: Approximately 25% Work Environment: Primarily onsite within a manufacturing facility Employment Type: Full Time
