Quick Highlights Experience: 2+ years preferred Location: Los Angeles, CA (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time (W-2) Salary: $50,000–$100,000 per year Languages: English & Mandarin Chinese (Required) Accounting Software: QuickBooks Online Experience: 2+ years preferred Job Summary Sunny Unite is seeking a detail-oriented Bilingual Accounting Specialist to support the company’s daily accounting operations, cash management, banking activities, and financial recordkeeping. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online , processing payments and deposits, supporting account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close and year-end audits. The ideal candidate is highly organized, trustworthy, and comfortable working with financial documents in both English and Mandarin Chinese. Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required for communication with vendors, banks, clients, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Daily Accounting & Cash Management Record daily cash, check, credit card, and bank transactions accurately in QuickBooks Online . Maintain accurate cash and bank records and assist with daily and monthly account reconciliations. Prepare and process cash and check deposits while maintaining complete deposit documentation. Prepare daily revenue reports and reconcile routine financial transactions, refunds, and account balances. Coordinate with local banks regarding deposits, account services, and routine banking matters. Accounts Payable & Payment Processing Review employee reimbursement requests and vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval. Prepare company checks and process approved payments, petty cash disbursements, and routine wire transfers. Maintain complete supporting documentation for all payments and reimbursements. Communicate professionally with vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding invoices, payments, and account discrepancies. Financial Documentation & Internal Controls Organize, classify, and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation for receipts, payments, reimbursements, and banking transactions. Safeguard company cash, blank check stock, and other sensitive financial materials. Follow established internal controls, dual-control procedures, and company financial policies. Support compliance with applicable cash reporting, recordkeeping, and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, including Form 8300 procedures when applicable. Financial Support & Process Improvement Assist with month-end closing, year-end audits, and preparation of supporting financial documentation. Identify unusual transactions, accounting discrepancies, or process weaknesses and report findings to the Finance Manager. Recommend practical improvements to strengthen accounting procedures and internal financial controls. Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by the Finance Manager. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or higher required; Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Two or more years of accounting, bookkeeping, treasury, or banking experience with a U.S.-based company is preferred. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and basic tax documentation is strongly preferred. Experience in commercial construction, retail construction, facilities maintenance, or a related industry is a plus. Language Requirements Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Ability to independently review and process English-language invoices, bank statements, financial records, emails, and basic tax documents. Ability to communicate professionally with Chinese-speaking vendors as well as English-speaking clients, suppliers, and banking representatives. Technical Skills Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is strongly preferred. Experience with Xero or other U.S. accounting software is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, financial spreadsheets, and data organization. Solid understanding of routine U.S. accounting practices, banking procedures, and financial documentation. Professional Qualities Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
