Salary: $81,873 - 104,388 per year Requirements:

• We require vocational or technical training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, along with six years of experience in data analytics or data science.
• Alternatively, we accept an associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, plus five years of experience in data analytics or data science.
• Alternatively, we accept a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, plus three years of experience in data analytics or data science.
• We need proficiency in SQL, preferably T-SQL.

• We lead discovery meetings to define business goals, KPIs, reporting needs, data sources, refresh timing, granularity, and service-level expectations.
• We create requirements artifacts such as business requirements documents, data modeling diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
• We profile source data to assess completeness, consistency, and distribution across systems such as databases, data lakes, and SaaS APIs.
• We perform gap analysis to identify missing attributes or inconsistencies against reporting needs.
• We document data quality concerns, establish validation rules, and define reconciliation procedures.
• We translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for data models, dimensional schemas, and analytics pipelines.
• We partner with data engineers, data scientists, and BI developers to align design approaches, naming standards, and reusable components.
• We ensure specifications address scalability, security, HIPAA-related handling, and maintainability.
• We develop test plans, test cases, and validation datasets for unit, integration, and user acceptance testing of dashboards, reports, and predictive models.
• We support stakeholders during UAT, manage defects, prioritize corrections, and oversee retesting.
• We verify solution performance, including query response time and model runtime, against agreed thresholds.
• We support go-live activities by preparing runbooks, SOPs, and cutover checklists.
• We monitor initial production runs, reconcile data, and resolve discrepancies.
• We participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and lessons learned documentation.
• We maintain inventories of data sources, data dictionaries, lineage diagrams, and model documentation.
• We write and update user guides, technical how-to documents, and metadata catalogs.
• We explain complex analytics concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• We collaborate with internal teams, external data providers, and vendors to align on data definitions, delivery schedules, and reporting expectations.
• We support data governance efforts focused on stewardship, privacy, and compliance.
• We look for ways to improve analytics workflows through reusable templates, automation, and self-service tools.
• We define and track analytics KPIs such as report timeliness, data quality error rates, and model accuracy.
• We recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction.

We are hiring a full-time remote Data Analytics Business Analyst. The selected candidate must reside in North Carolina and be willing to travel to our Morrisville, NC home office for onsite team meetings as needed. This role offers a salary range of $81,873 to $104,388 annually, with compensation based on education, experience, market data, and internal equity.
