• Shift Timing: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Pay Rate: $/Hr. Negotiable. On W2

 

 

Position Overview:

The PIT Trainer is responsible for delivering hands-on, equipment-specific training for Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operators. This role focuses on guiding new operators through the learning process, ensuring safe operation, and certifying employees in accordance with OSHA standards.

This is a highly structured, hands-on training role with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and real-time coaching.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Deliver hands-on PIT training only (no classroom focus)

· Train associates on specific equipment operation, including safe navigation and driving techniques

· Work directly with new operators—providing “hand-holding” support through the learning curve

· Evaluate operator competency and readiness for certification

· Ensure all training aligns with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 standards

· Administer practical evaluations and document certification outcomes

· Reinforce safety protocols and proper equipment handling at all times

· Maintain structured training schedules and documentation

 

Equipment Scope

· Sit-down forklifts

· Stand-up reach trucks

· Order pickers

· Electric pallet jacks / walkies

(Final equipment mix will be confirmed at site level)

 

Required Qualifications

· 3–4+ years of hands-on PIT operating experience

· Proven experience training or coaching equipment operators

· OSHA-compliant PIT certification (1910.178)

· Strong understanding of equipment safety, controls, and maneuvering in warehouse environments

· Ability to provide clear, step-by-step instruction and real-time correction

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Formal Train-the-Trainer certification

· Experience training in high-volume distribution environments

· Experience with multiple types of PIT equipment

 

Work Environment

· Fully hands-on, floor-based role in a warehouse/distribution center

· Requires prolonged standing, walking, and equipment operation

· May require working across shifts depending on training needs
