Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics employing both standardized assessments and careful observational techniques.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans that address immediate needs while paving the way for long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy targeted at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive care strategies that prioritize patient welfare.
  • Educate patients and their families to bolster their progress outside of clinic sessions, enhancing the overall therapeutic experience.
  • Participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions as necessary, ensuring a smooth continuum of care across the treatment timeline.
  • Ensure meticulous and timely documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry advancements through continuous education and collaborative peer engagement.
Education
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
Skills
  • Strong proficiency in evidence-based therapy for diverse age ranges, with an in-depth understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to customize therapy techniques to cater to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Exceptional clinical judgment paired with efficient problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity and comfort with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
