Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments coupled with observational techniques.
- Create individualized treatment strategies based on both immediate achievements and the overarching goals of communication, cognitive abilities, or swallowing competence.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions highlighting skills in communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to design integrated care approaches.
- Educate patients and families to reinforce and support therapeutic progress beyond clinical interactions.
- Provide assistance during inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring seamless continuity throughout the care journey.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation that aligns with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Remain committed to ongoing education and professional development through continued learning and collaborative peer engagement.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatments suitable for all age groups, with an in-depth understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and integrated care teams.
- Ability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Exemplary clinical judgment paired with adept problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with electronic health records and adherence to documentation protocols.
