Senior Transportation Project Manager

Senior Transportation Project Manager As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably, leading projects that span planning, design, construction, and operations across highways, bridges, transit, rail, aviation, ports, and marine infrastructure. Responsibilities Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s lifecycle. Own all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium‑size projects with high technical complexity. Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently. Establish and maintain client relationships and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings. Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders. Coordinate staffing and workload to ensure on‑schedule delivery of deliverables. Track financial aspects, adjusting work effort to stay within budget and schedule. Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, and Business leadership on periodic project reviews. Implement QC/QA procedures. Supervise large project staff and mentor less‑experienced project managers. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications PMP certification. ≥5 years experience working on projects with state departments of transportation. Knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual, and experience with KYTC or TDOT. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. ≥10 years related experience. Minimum 5 years project management experience. Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board of the employment location (e.g., PE or P.Eng). Microsoft Office and MS Project experience (Access experience a plus). Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
