Job Summary

The College of Arts & Sciences seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor to teach courses in analytical chemistry, physical chemistry and the first-year sequence in chemistry at the undergraduate level. This faculty position, based in the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics is a 10- month academic year position.

Responsibilities

Faculty - Teaching/Instructing
Teaching Responsibilities
- Full-time instructional load teaching in areas of expertise within the academic discipline
- Regular course meetings and instruction
- Mentoring students
- Other teaching responsibilities

All Georgia College & State University faculty share the responsibility of teaching our core curriculum and providing foundation courses for majors and non-majors alike.


Faculty employees also contribute to the Georgia College & State University core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore seminar (GC2Y) courses.

Faculty - Service to Institution
All faculty are expected to support the advancement of the department, college and university mission by providing service to the institution. Service may be at the department, college, university, community and/or disciplinary level. Duties include service on college-level and university- level committees, advising students regarding career options, and support of department-level outreach activities.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
PhD degree in a closely related field.
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements as stated in C.S. 3.7.1 ( (faculty credentials)).
Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Chemistry.

Instructor of record for college level classes in the related discipline.
Record of scholarly activity, publications, or creative works.

Proposed Salary

Minimum Salary for this position is $65,000.00 USD
