Public Relations Senior Associate – Travel, Consumer Lifestyle Job Location: New York, NY Job Requirements Blue Engine ( an award-winning creative communications agency, is seeking a travel- and hospitality-obsessed senior associate to join its consumer lifestyle public relations practice. This highly-motivated senior associate will lend their brilliance to an exciting range of clients in the travel and hospitality categories, among others. A penchant for pop culture, savviness for the latest “best of” and “must see” spots, and equal parts trend-setter and trend-spotter, this individual will be entrusted with supporting account teams across a wide breadth of service needs, such as media pitching and travel coordination, event production and management, partnership activations and campaign execution. Candidates who work, have worked in or have hands-on experience with clients in travel and hospitality sectors – hotels, airlines, tourism boards, restaurants, et al – will be prioritized for consideration. Responsibilities Project manage multiple campaigns with and on behalf of high-profile client(s), ensuring seamless integration internally and solid execution from start to finish. Conducting research to support campaign creation, spokesperson identification, event vendor selection, etc. Media relations activities, including maintaining knowledge and key understanding of and engagement with travel and lifestyle publications Coordination of media and influencer trips to international destinations (and occasionally staff these familiarization trips) Press release development and other writing responsibilities Maintain an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries and issues that directly and indirectly affect those clients Event coordination and support Manage and mentor junior staff, reviewing materials, supervising media reporting and monitoring and providing constructive feedback Qualifications 2 – 4+ years of relevant agency experience or internships, with strong working knowledge of evolving lifestyle/travel media and pop culture landscapes (a true afficionado); travel agency experience preferred, but not required Strong media relations experience, understanding the importance of developing relationships with key consumer, travel and lifestyle media and influencers and regularly securing top-tier placements for clients Strong writing ability Organizational and people skills Event planning and production experience| Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage time in an organized manner while ensuring deadlines are not just met, but exceeded A proven understanding of and affinity for digital tools and media platforms Fluency in Meltwater, Cision and/or Muck Rack (or related PR software) In-process fluency in AEO, GEO and LLM-centered public relations and earned media tactics, direction and measurement/tracking helpful (but not required) B.S/B.A required.
