Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities Understand project and contract specifications, provide technical support in commercial discussion involving variation order, scope and responsibility, cost dispute, etc, with various project stakeholders. Define scope split matrix for engineering sub-contractors. Responsible for planning and execution of relevant engineering work schedule in line with the construction schedule provided by project planner. Review and comment engineering schedule and planned activities proposed by engineering sub-contractors. Review and comment Topside and Marine electrical system deliverables issued by engineering sub-contractors, such as design philosophies, electrical consumer list, electrical load balance, single line diagrams, room layout and deck arrangement, cable schedule, hazardous area plan, etc. Ensure the designs follow requirements of contract, classification and local authority regulations and monitor progress. Monitor the progress of drawing schedule and planned electrical engineering design activities to align with the overall project execution plan. Review and ensure equipment layout complies with contract, classification and local authority regulations and coordinate with various disciplines for material handling, constructability, installation, operation and maintenance, and safety issues. Review procurement engineering documents issued by engineering sub-contractors, such as technical specifications, equipment data sheets, MTO, technical bid evaluation, participate in bid clarification meetings with vendors and assist in vendor selection. Review and consolidate MTO and issue for purchase. Review and comment vendor documents and participate in vendor FAT as lead representative. Participate in technical meetings, progress reviews, 3D model reviews, workshops; address issues related to electrical design and interface. Act as lead representative for key discussions and safety workshops such as HAZID, HAZOP, E-HAZOP, Electrical FMEA, etc., and make sound engineering decisions. Monitor and control material cost and man‑hours within the limit for the scope of work and promote cost consciousness among team members. Serve as point of contact for reporting team members to raise any major issue or bottleneck and take necessary preventive/corrective action to rectify the situation. Address comments from client, classification, local authority, and 3rd‑party consultants with assistance from engineering sub‑contractors. Communicate with vendors and other disciplines to ensure changes are captured timely and implemented in design and 3D model. Follow up on all electrical engineering activities after taking over from engineering sub‑contractors, including document updating, vendor document review, supporting construction, and commissioning. Drive lesson‑learnt activities and take action to prevent repeated mistakes among team members. Requirements Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is mandatory. Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or any advanced certifications (e.g. PMP) or degrees are a plus. Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering coordination, with a focus on electrical design and MCC Building, preferably in FPU or offshore projects. Familiar with USCG requirements. Strong knowledge of electrical design, construction, and commissioning. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
