Job Description

The PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse is responsible for the recovery of patients post-anesthesia, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. The successful candidate will support same-day surgeries and in-patient admits, ensuring adherence to ASPAN standards and providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient recovery progress ensuring vital signs are stable.
• Administer medications and initiate emergency interventions as necessary.
• Coordinate with surgical teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care requirements.
• Manage patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Participate in required call schedules and weekend rotations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license and Compact license (must be in hand at submission).
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required, preferably in a PACU or similar setting.
• Prior charge experience is a plus.
