Job DescriptionRegenerative Agriculture Origination Manager - Des Moines, IAThis is a full time, salary exempt position.The Climate Smart Origination Manager for the Western Region will implement ADM’s regenerative agricultural initiatives in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri. They will work closely with the agriculture sector, nongovernment organizations and government agencies on implementing projects related to water quality, soil health and natural climate solutions. The Midwestern Regen Ag Origination Manager will work closely with the Director of Regen Ag - Origination to help implement ADM’s IA, MN, and MO regenerative ag strategy through engagement with farmers and local/regional members of the agricultural sector and conservation partners in project areas.This position will work from office for 2 days a week at our Des Moines commercial office but will have the ability to work from home other days.Responsibilities & Scope:Steward, facilitate, and leverage existing and new relationships with members of state and federal agencies, as well as the agriculture sector, including farmers, producer groups, conservation partners, and supply chain partners, to implement ADM’s regenerative agriculture strategies that lead to increased adoption of sustainable practices, including soil health and nutrient load reduction management.Support Director of Regen Ag in writing grants, funding proposals and provide grant management for program and partners.Facilitate meetings, trainings, and outreach efforts.Serve as a resource for farmers and farmer advisors relating to implementation of nutrient management and soil health BMPsHelp design, implement and direct multiple complex projects, setting and meeting deadlines, and ensuring project accountability.Perform tasks with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context.Ensure program compliance with internal GHG protocol policies and external requirements.Requirements:BA/BS degree and 10 years of experience in conservation, agriculture or agronomy, natural resource management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience managing projects, including managing finances, with a wide variety of partners, both internal and external.Experience working with the agricultural community, including training farmers and ag industry professionals.Experience working effectively with partners and stakeholders and building positive relationships with a variety of partners.Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).Experience with successful grant writing and management.Experience developing partnerships and leading collaborations within the private and public sectors.Experience working for or with ag retailers and sales agronomists.Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation and agriculture – especially 4R, soil health, ecosystem service markets and edge of field practices.Knowledge of state and federal cost-share programs.Experience working with USDA programs and/or working with soil and water conservation districts.Ability and willingness to apply science to decision-making and guide activities.Ability to interpret field data and communicate to non-scientific stakeholders.Politically savvy and experience in presenting to and communicating with business, governmental, and community leaders.Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.Travel includes occasional day trips and approximately 25% overnight trips. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
