Job Title Assistant Vice President Nuclear Laboratory Quality Assurance Manager Location & Availability The candidate can sit in any of WSP's U.S. offices; however, significant time will be required in the Atlanta and Grovetown Laboratory locations. Position Overview Senior level role within the NQA Group, responsible for verifying implementation of Nuclear QA Program Requirements across all WSP internal and external material laboratories. The role requires interaction with project staff, vendors, customers, and regulators, and involves managing lower-level personnel. The candidate will work under the WSP USA Nuclear Quality Assurance Program. Responsibilities Verify the status of implementation of the NQA Program in material laboratories. Work with a laboratory team to execute projects compliant with NQA-1, covering construction materials and geotechnical applications. Ensure compliance with laboratory accreditations (GDOT, USACE, AASHTO Re:Source/CCRL, NQA-1, etc.), prepare the team for internal and external audits, and verify quality control. Verify compliant laboratory quality requirements for records, personnel qualifications, and client requirements. Develop and maintain the Nuclear QA Manual (NQAM), Nuclear Quality Assurance Procedures (NQAP), Quality Directives (QD), and related forms. Verify compliance with regulatory requirements through audits and quality reviews. Monitor organizational processes to ensure conformance to commitments. Ensure vendors providing quality‑affecting services or items meet programmatic requirements. Act on behalf of junior NQA staff to conduct QA surveillances, assessments, readiness reviews, and review documents controlling project technical and quality activities. Support approval of individuals for appointment as Nuclear Chief Technical Leads, Nuclear Project Managers, and Nuclear Technical Leads for NQA projects. Participate in the order entry process to review and identify quality‑related items/requirements and integrate customer‑specific quality and technical requirements. Perform evaluations of the adequacy of the NQA program. Qualifications Professional registration or certification preferred. Computer competency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Minimum of ten years of professional experience in laboratory or quality program implementation. Five years of experience on projects subject to nuclear quality assurance requirements, with at least three years managing a 10CFR50 Appendix B/NQA-1 compliant QA program. Ability to achieve NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification. Ability to foster a collaborative attitude with project staff while maintaining independence in the NQM oversight role. Commitment to the principles and requirements of the WSP USA Nuclear Quality Assurance Program. Ability to work independently while meeting schedule and project commitments. Ability to understand and adhere to safety requirements. Analytical, problem‑solving skills and systematic thinking. Good personal interaction, speaking, writing, and presentation skills. Good attention to detail. Travel required.
