Our Mechanical Engineer Co-Ops participate in the design, development, and test of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems on military aircraft and transportable platforms. You will learn to work closely with fellow Mechanical Engineers as well as Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing Engineering staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product’s lifecycle. Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August 2026 (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity This is an ONSITE position located in Richardson, TX. What You Will Do: With technical supervision, apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems. Work with engineers and designers to produce models for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies. With technical oversight, execute tests for systems, subsystems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives. Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team. What You Will Learn: Collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team to create successful designs. How to follow appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs. Documentation of development, analysis, and test data. Processes associated with the various phases of the product development cycle. Qualifications You Must Have: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering (3rd year or greater preferred). U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required Qualifications We Prefer: Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
