What You Will Do As a Mechanical Engineer at Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS), you will participate in the design, development, and test of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems on military aircraft and transportable platforms. The selected candidate will learn to work closely with Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing staff to ensure that defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product’s lifecycle. Participate in design and development activities, including implementation of specifications and development of performance or maintenance requirements. Learn engineering design processes to contribute to designs for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies. Participate in the execution of tests for systems, subsystems, and components. Participate in the analysis of test results in relation to design and test objectives. Evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost effectiveness and efficiency. Evaluate installations and recommend design modifications. Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team. Some travel as required to support installation and test events. Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering obtained by start date. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects. The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
