SUMMARY

Works with the Financial Controller to direct the accounting activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly financial statements.

• Oversees Accounts Payable Department.

• Maintains the general ledger as well as indirect responsibility for all sub-ledgers.

• Timely completion of all accounting procedures to accomplish general accounting objectives.

• Compliance with accounting requirements to include but not limited to meeting scheduled report dates, special requests for financial information and adherence to accounting practices and policies.

• Assists Financial Controller with coordinating activities of external auditor including preparing account reconciliations, preparing materials for review and responding to auditor's requests for information.

• Prepares reports by regulatory agencies, and federal, state and local tax returns as directed by the Director of Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to work well in a Team environment. All applicants are required to take a test.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, extensive general ledger capabilities, and a minimum of five years of experience as Accounting Manager. Demonstrated experience in all phases of accounting and supervisory responsibility for at least 3 staff. Experience in computer accounting with additional experience using personal computer software, with a knowing knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet analysis software.
