Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a direct and lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher, working with elementary students in a dedicated Developmental and Cognitive Delay (DCD) center-based program. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required; must be attached to the application)
- Proven experience or training in special education, particularly with students who have developmental and cognitive delays
- Strong communication skills, patience, and an ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and specialists
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and tailored support for elementary students with developmental and cognitive delays
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs); monitor and document student progress toward goals
- Collaborate with special education team members, classroom teachers, and support staff to enhance learning opportunities
- Adapt materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs and abilities
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student achievements, challenges, and any necessary support strategies
- Maintain accurate records while adhering to all requirements and standards for special education
This position offers a consistent weekday schedule (Monday through Friday) and a full-time workload of 37.5 hours per week during the school year. You’ll find purpose-driven work in a welcoming school community committed to helping every child thrive.
