Staff Accountant

Reports To: Senior VP of Accounting

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team.

This role will report directly to the Senior VP of Accounting and will work closely with accounting leadership on monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, process improvements, and special projects.

The Staff Accountant will play an important role in reviewing financial activity, identifying discrepancies, and helping ensure accurate reporting across multiple locations and entities.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and review monthly Profit & Loss statements in collaboration with the Senior VP of Accounting.
• Reconcile P&L accounts and research unusual variances, posting errors, and classification issues.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with proper supporting documentation.
• Complete bank reconciliations for assigned accounts and entities.
• Research and resolve reconciling items and general ledger discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and account corrections.
• Assist the Senior VP of Accounting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Review account activity to ensure transactions are recorded to the correct general ledger account, location, and accounting period.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations and resolution of outstanding balances.
• Collaborate with the Senior VP of Accounting on financial statement review and management reporting.
• Work with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Inventory Accounting, and Operations to research and resolve accounting issues.
• Help identify trends, unusual activity, and potential accounting concerns for review with accounting leadership.
• Maintain organized reconciliation schedules and supporting workpapers.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
• Partner with accounting leadership on process improvements, internal controls, and special accounting projects.
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting or general ledger experience preferred.
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of basic GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with bank, balance sheet, and P&L reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills.
• QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing, multi-location environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Willingness to learn, take ownership of assigned accounts, and grow with the organization.
