IT Security Analyst - Journey

Salary: $84,120 - 113,148 per year Requirements:

• We require six years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology security analysis, security system implementation, and security application configuration and upkeep.
• Alternatively, we require a bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, or a closely related discipline, plus two years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology security.
• We prefer candidates with one or more professional credentials such as CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, GSEC, CEH, or Security+.
• We prefer at least three years of experience developing, implementing, and enforcing agency information systems security policies, procedures, and technical standards.
• We prefer at least three years of experience designing and applying security controls and processes to protect an organization or agency.
• We prefer at least two years of experience identifying and resolving information security risks and incidents that could affect operations or projects.
• We prefer at least two years of project management experience with an emphasis in information technology or IT security.
• We prefer experience in at least half of the following areas: systems and network security, web application and development security, risk management, network discovery and vulnerability assessments, malware analysis, compliance audits, log management, security vulnerability documentation, and security control monitoring.
• We prefer experience managing IT security in third-party cloud environments.
• We prefer knowledge of compliance management requirements such as NIST, CJIS, PCI, and OCIO 141.10.
• We prefer experience managing and maintaining security controls in Azure.
• We value strong communication, customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, organizing, learning agility, and collaborative service-oriented skills.

• We monitor, maintain, and configure systems that support risk, threat, and vulnerability management.
• We use threat and vulnerability management tools to identify issues and work with technical partners to create timely remediation plans.
• We monitor SIEM platforms and build custom queries and alerts.
• We assess agency systems for alignment with our IT security policies and recommend configuration improvements to strengthen protection.
• We support Security Design Review activities for systems, applications, IoT devices, and business technology solutions, including documentation and approval workflows.
• We keep current on emerging cybersecurity policies and standards that may affect our systems and business practices.
• We help establish security baselines for hardware, software, IoT devices, network and mobile devices, and cloud solutions.
• We participate in WaTech SOC, OCS, and related risk and policy meetings to represent our agencys interests.
• We review mobile applications for security concerns and determine whether they are appropriate for use under current requirements.
• We take part in security exercises that test our Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Continuity of Operations, and Incident Response plans.
• We collaborate with IT operations, network infrastructure, compliance, and agency teams to identify risks and improve our overall security posture.
• We provide hands-on technical security support to protect systems, data, and technology services that serve our mission and stakeholders.
