Position Summary This position provides preventative, supportive, and corrective interventions related to the radiology environment by coordinating staff to ensure daily technical operations achieve and comply with established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations and standards. Responsibilities Supervise staff and receive supervision from the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging. Assist the Manager in supervising radiology departments in advanced imaging (CT, MRI, US). Assist in performance appraisals, employee relations issue investigations and resolutions, and responsibilities associated with hiring and firing. Provide guidance, mentoring, and direction for ongoing staff development. Assist manager in developing and revising staffing schedules to ensure quality patient care. Coordinate staff meetings and create meeting agendas. Review, adjust, and approve timecards. Work with Talent Acquisition to arrange temporary staffing as necessary. Rectify charges with specific modalities to ensure proper billing procedures are completed. Coordinate education and training for radiology technologists, including department orientation, equipment orientation, and procedure implementations and updates. Monitor quality and effectiveness of workflow, problem resolution, and troubleshoot issues and processes to ensure compliance with regulations. Collect and compile monthly statistical measures; prepare related operational and statistical reports for management. Assist Manager in completing ad hoc projects as needed. Oversee performance of diagnostic and therapeutic routine radiology procedures and images, quality control testing, and instrument maintenance procedures. Oversee performance of archiving diagnostic images in accordance with Radiologist specifications. Supervise and evaluate work activities of assigned Clinical Radiography students; provide guidance, mentoring, and direction. Work in modality to cover shifts and fill in when appropriate. Perform miscellaneous job related duties as requested. Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent/substitutable experience (e.g., 2 years in a full‑time radiographic technology role) — Required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field — Preferred. Experience: 5 or more years of radiology experience — Required. Special Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills — Required. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills — Required. Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues or situations — Required. Strong commitment to team environment dynamics; ability to follow leadership directives — Required. Ability to lead others in high‑demand situations — Required. Additional Requirements: Current Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency MRTBE license — Required. Current ARRT registration — Required. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association — Required. Advanced license in another modality (CT, MRI, US) within 24 months of hire — Required.
