Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse position is located in Athens, Texas. This role involves providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients in a dedicated ICU setting. The position requires high-level clinical expertise and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state or compact license, two years of experience in ICU or similar critical care setting, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an Acute Care or Intensive Care Unit setting preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Staffing & Scheduling: Night shifts, patient ratios of 2 patients per nurse during nights.
  • Unit Details: Daily census of 8 patients, 10 beds, interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
  • Patient Diagnoses: Adult and geriatric patient populations with complex medical needs.
  • Procedures & Equipment: Central line management, arterial line insertion/management, ventilator management, and various trauma and critical care procedures.
  • Certification and experience in accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, interpretation of arterial blood gases, management of multisystem organ failure, and other advanced skills are required.
  • Onboarding includes completing core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing, with onsite modules during orientation.
