One of our Revenue Accountants has resigned so we urgently need a contractor to help fill the gap for 3 months.

About the Role:


Highspot is seeking a Revenue Accounting Contractor to support our global revenue accounting operations. This is a three month contractor role and is not a full-time employment opportunity. The contractor will work closely with Highspot's global Revenue Accounting team and support US PST business hours overlap as needed.

In this role, you will support the monthly revenue close process, assist with revenue accounting operations, and partner closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while helping maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.


This role reports to the Director of Revenue Accounting and will support ongoing operational and process improvement initiatives as Highspot continues to scale.

What You'll Do:
• Help manage all aspects of the revenue month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, performing detailed account reconciliations, conducting flux analyses, and creating disclosures and reporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, particularly ASC 606, for accurate revenue recognition.
• Analyze and review customer contracts to validate proper revenue accounting, including assessing standalone selling prices (SSP), performance obligations, variable considerations, and multi-element arrangements.
• Collaborate with cross-functionals teams to evaluate the revenue impact of new product launches, pricing models, and other business initiatives.
• Refine and scale revenue accounting processes to support global revenue operations, ensuring scalability and alignment with best practices.
• Drive process enhancements and automation initiatives to accelerate the monthly close and reporting cycle.
• Contribute to system implementations or upgrades, ensuring functionality aligns with revenue accounting requirements.
• ddress discrepancies in the Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle, including issues related to invoicing, deferred revenue, and contract modifications.
• Support accounting analysis for contract modifications, terminations, and bundled arrangements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of revenue-impacting transactions.
• Collaborate effectively with global team members and contribute to knowledge sharing across the revenue accounting function.
Deliverables

Your Background:
• 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on SaaS revenue accounting and US GAAP.
• Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and its application to Enterprise SaaS, including:
• Professional Services revenue recognition
• Contract modifications and cancellations
• SSP determination and bundled arrangements
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and CPQ, ZoneBilling, or other invoicing platforms.
• Proven ability to interpret and analyze complex contracts.
• dvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including handling large datasets and leveraging intermediate-to-advanced functions.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, particularly Advanced Revenue Management (ARM).
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with global teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in US GAAP audits and revenue accounting for global SaaS businesses.
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and CPQ, Zone Billing or other Invoicing platform.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and automation in revenue accounting.
Additional TermsSupplier Comments

Location: Remote (US or India)

Work Hours: M-F with 9am start time; end time needs to be flexible given accounting team needs. (No more than 40 hours per week)

• If US - PST hours
• If India - ideally PST hours but if not possible, at least 4hrs of overlap during 6 days of monthly close would be needed
