Field Service Manager / Mechanic / ElectricianMinooka, IL Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Field Service Manager / Mechanic / Electrician for a company in Minooka, IL. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines mechanical and electrical repair, field service management, customer interaction, and supervision of assigned helpers. Express Employment Professionals is an Equal Opportunity Employer.What You'll DoDiagnose, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain locomotives, air compressors, and related equipment.Perform both mechanical and electrical repairs, including rewiring, component replacement, troubleshooting, and system upgrades.Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.Install control systems, remote-control systems, and engine heating systems.Tear down and rebuild air compressors and engine components.Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to inspect and overhaul components.Perform welding, cutting, and basic fabrication as needed.Operate forklifts and other shop equipment safely.Travel to customer locations to perform service work and repairs.Communicate directly with customers, provide updates, and manage expectations throughout projects.Supervise and lead assigned helpers, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.Complete service reports and communicate findings to management.QualificationsValid Illinois Class C Driver's License required.High School Diploma or GED.Trade school training or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, diesel engine, locomotive, or industrial maintenance.Minimum 2.5 years of related mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical documents.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Leadership skills and the ability to manage assigned helpers.Work EnvironmentWork is performed both in the shop and at customer locations.Must be willing to travel to off-site job locations.Occasional overnight stays are required.Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.Significant overtime is available and often required based on workload and customer needs.Must be able to lift, climb, bend, work around heavy equipment, and perform physically demanding tasks.
