Staff Accountant

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting operations and weekly payroll processing. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in general accounting principles who thrives in a structured, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities General Accounting Maintain and reconcile the general ledger on a monthly basis Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports Maintain organized and accurate financial records in compliance with company policy Payroll Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and withholdings Maintain employee payroll records and update changes (new hires, terminations, rate changes, direct deposit) Utilize reporting tools to audit payroll data and support finance reporting needs Prepare and file payroll tax deposits and quarterly/annual returns (941, W-2s, etc.) Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations Working Conditions This is a full-time, in-office position. Some overtime may be required during close periods, tax deadlines, and weekly payroll processing cycles. Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred Hands‑on experience with Sage accounting software required Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to meet recurring weekly payroll deadlines Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Preferred Experience with multi‑state payroll Knowledge of GAAP fundamentals CPA track or actively pursuing certification is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
