Priority Consideration: In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, employees within the bargaining unit will receive priority for this role if they submit their applications within seven (7) days from the date of posting. After this timeframe, all candidates will be evaluated on an equal basis.
GENERAL SUMMARY:This position involves conducting CT procedures across various settings and locations, as directed by licensed healthcare providers. The work must be performed ethically and professionally, adhering to both hospital and departmental policies, as well as relevant New York State regulations. Additionally, the individual will support all functions within the Radiology Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Must hold a valid license from the New York State Department of Health and be registered with ARRT (Radiographer).
- ARRT (CT) credentials must be obtained within two years; eligibility will be assessed by both the employee and their manager/supervisor.
- If an employee is unable to achieve registration within the specified timeframe, a six-month extension will be granted to obtain the necessary credentials.
- Certification from the New York State Department of Health to administer IV contrast is required within two (2) months following the completion of the orientation period.
- On-call responsibilities in CT will be required as per the union contract.
- Must possess strong sensitivity and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with anxious patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Effective communication skills are essential for interactions with physicians and staff in various situations.
- The ability to think and act swiftly is necessary to provide high-quality care in diverse and potentially stressful environments.
- BLS certification is required (or must be obtained within three months).
- Preferred: At least one year of experience as a Radiographer.
