Key Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant Maintain and analyze standard costing, inventory valuation, and product costing across manufacturing operations Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations, cost analyses, and journal entries Support month-end close activities related to inventory, manufacturing costs, and cost of goods sold Analyze manufacturing variances, labor, material, and overhead costs while providing actionable recommendations Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Production teams to improve cost visibility and operational performance Assist with annual standard cost updates, budgeting, and forecasting activities Support inventory cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit requirements Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend cost-saving opportunities and process improvements Prepare financial reports and ad hoc analysis for leadership Qualifications For The Cost Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 3–5 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost of goods sold Experience supporting month-end close, inventory reconciliations, and financial reporting Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment CPA or CMA preferred, but not required Medical device or highly regulated manufacturing experience is a plus Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements Benefits & Growth Performance-based bonus Equity participation Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Generous PTO and paid holidays Professional development and career advancement opportunities Collaborative, innovation-focused culture This Cost Accountant opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong manufacturing cost accounting background who wants to make a direct impact on business performance.
