  • Establish and apply appropriate inspection techniques for penetrant testing and other NDT methods in line with ASNT SNT-TC-1A and MIL-STD-410 standards.
  • Interpret inspection results to identify discontinuities, defects, or nonconformances and determine acceptance or rejection of parts based on specifications.
  • Accurately document inspection results, inspection reports, certifications, and quality records to meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and final inspections to validate new or revised components and assemblies prior to release.
  • Verify component compliance with engineering and customer requirements before release to manufacturing or shipment.
  • Maintain inspection equipment, ensure proper care and handling, and support calibration activities to keep instruments in reliable working condition.
  • Monitor calibration requirements and evaluate vendor test reports to ensure consistency and reliability of inspection data.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action efforts.
  • Read and interpret company, customer, and military drawings, specifications, and work instructions to plan and perform inspections correctly.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Adhere to all quality system, safety, and regulatory requirements during inspection and testing activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area to support efficient workflow and high-quality results.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall quality and production objectives.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions from company, customer, and military sources.
  • Skill in evaluating inspection indications against applicable specifications to determine acceptance or rejection of parts.
  • Experience with NDT inspection methods including liquid penetrant and other techniques such as magnetic particle, radiography, or ultrasonic testing as qualified.
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials and precision-machined components and their typical defect mechanisms.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and industry standards consistently.
  • Ability to accurately interpret test results and maintain inspection records in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and use of quality or calibration tracking systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • ASNT Level II certification in one or more NDT methods, such as Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Radiography, or Ultrasonic testing.
  • Experience inspecting valves, regulators, fuel systems, or other pressure-containing components used in aerospace applications.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality systems, including documentation, traceability, and audit requirements.
  • Prior experience working in a regulated or customer-audited environment with strict quality and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience evaluating vendor test reports and integrating external inspection data into internal quality records.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections, documentation requirements, and calibration schedules.
Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing and aerospace inspection environment, working primarily in a dedicated NDT and quality inspection area. The technician uses specialized NDT equipment for Liquid Penetrant Inspection and may also work with magnetic particle, radiography, or ultrasonic testing systems, following detailed procedures and standards.
