HR & Payroll Manager

Our growing professional services firm is seeking an HR & Payroll Manager to oversee HR operations and payroll administration for a multi-state workforce. This is a highly visible role that combines employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and payroll support. Key Responsibilities Human Resources Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers Manage full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding Handle employee relations matters, investigations, and performance management Administer benefits, leave programs, and HR policies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Maintain employee records and HRIS data Support employee engagement, training, and culture-building initiatives Partner with leadership on workforce planning and HR initiatives Payroll Process and audit payroll for accuracy and compliance Review timesheets, PTO, deductions, bonuses, and employee changes Respond to payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies Support payroll reporting, year-end processing, and audits Coordinate with payroll and benefits providers Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent HR experience 5+ years of HR experience Prior experience with professional services Experience processing or overseeing payroll Strong knowledge of California employment laws Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred Beacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
