Senior Business Support Specialist (Billing Quality Assurance)

OUC – The Reliable One is seeking a Senior Business Support Specialist (Billing Quality Assurance) to join the Customer Experience & Sales division. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality data validation, operational insights, and reporting using SQL, Excel, Cognos, Power BI, and other enterprise systems. Maintain and improve the tools that keep billing and rate processes accurate, including dashboards, spreadsheets, and ad hoc analysis used across the department. Manage annual billing schedules and rate updates for OUC and key municipal partners, ensuring everything is implemented correctly and on time. Support testing, quality checks, and process documentation for major system changes and cross‑functional projects. Monitor exceptions and revenue‑loss scenarios, helping protect organizational accuracy and financial integrity. Serve as an advisor and subject‑matter partner to analysts, trainers, and leadership, translating complex operational data into clear guidance and decisions. Over time, influence will expand into department‑wide support, vendor and budget coordination, and broader process‑improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field from an accredited university or college. Each year of additional experience may substitute one year of education shortfall. Minimum of four years of experience supporting business operations, including one or more of the following responsibilities: leading projects, programs, and/or teams; budget/accounting coordination; financial data research; developing operational reports; analysis of business operations. Utility experience preferred. Additional experience in the functional area of assignment may be preferred. Technical Requirements Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and specialty software used to assemble business operations data in the billing, budget, accounting, or workforce management domains. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze business operations and financial data, identify problems or opportunities, interpret policies, and propose solutions. Capability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects to meet deadlines. Ability to lead projects, provide guidance, and train other employees. Understanding of technical and regulatory knowledge in the functional area of assignment. Competence in developing reports, documents, manuals, and guides. Foundational knowledge of governmental accounting practices for maintaining financial records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and standard office equipment.
