7/27/2026Buyer IPosition SummaryThe Buyer I provides day-to-day operational support to the Purchasing Manager by executing transactional purchasing activities that ensure uninterrupted production and efficient inventory management. This role is responsible for purchase order processing, supplier quote review, inventory replenishment, vendor communications, and identifying cost savings opportunities. By owning routine purchasing activities, the Buyer I enables the Purchasing Manager to focus on supplier development, purchasing process improvements, automation initiatives, and strategic supply chain priorities.Primary ResponsibilitiesSupport the Purchasing Manager in the daily execution of purchasing operations.Process and maintain purchase orders to meet production schedules and customer demand.Review supplier quotations for price, lead time, and commercial terms.Identify and communicate cost savings opportunities through supplier negotiations, alternate sources, and purchasing efficiencies.Perform weekly inventory reviews and execute replenishment activities to maintain target inventory levels.Manage Kanban replenishment and reorder point purchasing to ensure uninterrupted material flow.Maintain item cards, purchasing parameters, lead times, and supplier information within the ERP system.Communicate with suppliers regarding order acknowledgments, delivery schedules, expedites, and quality concerns.Monitor open purchase orders and proactively resolve shortages and late deliveries.Support inventory accuracy through collaboration with Planning, Warehouse, and Operations.Maintain purchasing documentation in accordance with company policies and quality requirements.Assist with continuous improvement initiatives that improve purchasing efficiency and inventory performance.Success MeasuresPurchase orders processed accurately and on timeSupplier delivery performanceInventory availability and reduced stockoutsKanban replenishment complianceERP item card accuracyPurchase price variance improvementsDocumented cost savings opportunitiesReduced expedites and premium freightImproved Purchasing Manager capacity for strategic initiativesYou should be proficient in:Vendor & Supplier ManagementInventory Management & Control #J-18808-Ljbffr
