Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require One year of experience as a medical assistant, performing front and back-office Medical Assistant duties, including experience with venipuncture, electronic health records, phlebotomy, patient vitals, and EKGs Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion from an accredited healthcare training program Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from the American Medical Technologists High school diploma or GED Job Contributions Performs duties within the medical assistant scope of practice, under the direct supervision of a physician, mid-level provider, or Nurse Manager, to ensure quality patient care Completes required documentation in the electronic health record or other modality Verifies dental, behavioral, and medical health information with outside healthcare organizations Conducts office duties, including copying, filing, scanning, scheduling, and document preparation Responds to and directs clinical calls effectively and professionally in-person, telephonically, and online Maintains confidentiality of all information in all communication and interactions Working Conditions Ability to work inside a jail and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift while accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks Position includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidays Travel or floating to various clinical locations is required within a 5-mile radius Must be able to respond to emergencies Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification and get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access Selection Procedure Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
