Staff/Senior Accountant

With offices in New Bedford, MA andNantucket, MA we service clients throughout the South Coast, Cape, and the Islands.We provide audit, accounting, tax and management consulting services to adiverse group of clients, including but not limited to commercial fishing, restaurants,nonprofit organizations, manufacturing, healthcare, petroleum distribution andretail, and professional services. Theideal candidate should have at least 2 to 5 years of public accounting experience.The staff accountant should possess strong communication skills and beproficient in computer programs such as MS Office, QuickBooks and ProSystem fxtax software. Experience should include preparation of individual, corporate,fiduciary, and nonprofit income tax returns; financial statement preparation;year-end business closings, and general business and tax consulting. Responsibilities: Prepareindividual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary and nonprofit tax returns Trialbalance preparation and analysis of trial balance accounts PrepareTax Planning and Projections. Audit,review and compilation engagements for various types of clients Reconciliationand posting of the general ledger Month-end,Quarter-end, and Year-end closing Taxand GAAP research Requirements: 2years of public accounting experience, preferred Individual, corporate (S& C Corp), fiduciary, and nonprofit tax return prep experience General ledger andtrial balance experience Detailoriented with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously Knowledge of QuickBooks Proficientin Microsoft Office and Adobe Knowledgeof CCH ProSystem fx Tax and ProSystem fx Engagement a plus Strongwritten and verbal communication and organizational skills. Abilityto work in an environment with changing priorities and deadlines Abilityto conduct tax research utilizing checkpoint tax software and governmentwebsites
