Accountant

Our client, a premier manufacturing organization in Middletown, CT, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the finance team. This is an immediate Temp to Perm opportunity.  This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance across company operations.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Month-End Close: Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclasses; reconcile GL accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and account variance analysis to present clear explanations to management. Assist with overall financial statements and management reporting.

• Compliance & Audits: Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and answering inquiries while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

• Asset Management: Assist with fixed asset accounting, including capitalization policies and depreciation schedules.

• Support special projects and perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 5 years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing industry experience preferred).

• Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel
