Strategic People Partner

Role Description

Strong leadership is essential for Oyster’s success across a diverse and complex landscape, and we’re looking for a Strategic People Partner to join our team to work closely with leadership across the organization.

In this role, you will:

• Work closely with senior leaders across Oyster to identify, develop, and enhance key leadership capabilities.
• Help people managers around the world build a consistent culture of enablement, trust, and togetherness.
• Coach and advise Leaders and managers on People Leadership.
• Advise Managers on intricate and complex HR and employee relations issues, including PIPs, investigations, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic People Leadership:
  • Hold a position of significant influence within our organization.
  • Streamline People interactions and drive consistent People messaging.
  • Guide strategic business decisions and be accountable for execution.
• Organizational Design:
  • Assess and provide guidance on optimizing the team and company’s organizational structure.
  • Focus on strategic goal alignment and improving operational efficiency.
• Employee Relations Leadership:
  • Handle and resolve employee relations matters with a balanced approach.
  • Conduct investigations and partner with the Legal team to minimize risks.
• Leadership Development and Enablement:
  • Guide, support, and train managers on leadership principles and employee programs.
  • Partner with L&D to develop training programs for Manager capabilities.
• Develop and Manage Performance Process:
  • Refine current performance processes and support leaders on increasing performance.
  • Oversee the effective execution of PIPs and Development Plans.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with various teams to ensure a consistent approach to People processes.
• People Programs and Strategic Initiatives:
  • Support developing, leading, and implementing strategic people programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of People and Business Partner experience in dynamic organizations.
• Organizational design expertise including experience with significant org design changes.
• Deep knowledge of HR programs, coaching, facilitation, and performance management.
• Significant experience partnering with globally distributed teams across time zones.
• Proven success at developing strong trusting relationships.
• Strong communication skills and executive presence.
• A track record of designing and running strategic people programs.
• Experience embedding AI into work processes.
