Store Director

The Role As Store Director, you'll take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day management and commercial performance of the store, ensuring every department operates efficiently while delivering an outstanding customer experience. Key responsibilities include: Leading and developing a high‑performing, customer‑focused store team. Managing all aspects of store operations across multiple departments. Taking ownership of the store's profit and loss performance, budgets and financial targets. Driving sales growth while controlling costs and improving profitability. Recruiting, coaching, developing and retaining talented team members. Ensuring merchandising, inventory and operational standards are consistently maintained. Monitoring compliance across health & safety, food safety, HR and regulatory requirements. Managing staffing levels, labour planning and payroll budgets. Building strong relationships within the local community to strengthen the store's presence. Analysing business performance and implementing continuous improvements. About You We're looking for an inspiring retail leader who combines commercial awareness with exceptional people management skills. You’ll ideally have: Previous experience managing a large retail or grocery store. At least five years' experience within a retail environment with increasing management responsibility. Experience as an Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager. Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L management. Excellent leadership and team development skills. Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities. Strong organisational, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Experience working with retail management systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline is desirable.
