A highly entrepreneurial, private equity-backed beauty and consumer products company seeks an Associate General Counsel, IP

The ideal candidate will have 4–8+ years of trademark/IP, advertising, marketing, licensing and/or product claims regulatory legal experience , with a strong preference for someone who has already worked in-house, particularly within beauty, personal care, CPG or another consumer-facing business

This is not a traditional trademark/IP role . It is a broad, high-visibility position for someone who wants to be deeply embedded in the business and have a hand in the legal work behind innovative consumer brands.

The Company

This is a sophisticated beauty brand incubator and consumer products platform that creates, launches and grows innovative beauty and personal care brands across haircare, skincare, fragrance and wellness. Its products are sold through many of the country's leading beauty, mass-market and specialty retailers.

The business has a start-up mentality with the resources of a well-capitalized, private-equity-backed company . It is creative, fast-moving and highly entrepreneurial, and the legal team works very closely with the business.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will have significant ownership of:

1. Global trademark portfolio management, clearance, prosecution and enforcement
2. Advertising, marketing, social media, packaging, retail and influencer review
3. Product claims, substantiation and related FDA/FTC regulatory issues
4. Licensing, co-branding, collaboration, creative, talent and influencer agreements
5. IP support for acquisitions, partnerships and new brand launches
6. Practical legal counseling to senior executives and cross-functional business teams

Compensation: $250,000–$290,000 base + 20% target bonus + meaningful long-term incentive opportunity

Location: New York City | 3 days in office
