Full‑time 7 p‑7 a shift on a 28‑bed Med‑Surg unit focused on post‑surgical patients, with overflow to general Med‑Surg and telemetry. Magnet designated campus. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Exemplary Practice and Outcomes • Perform the Nursing Process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking to individualize care and coordinate effective partnerships. Patient‑Centered Care • Provide relationship‑based care adjusted for population characteristics such as age, gender, disease, and cultural diversity. Patient Partnership • Engage patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned teaching, keeping patient goals at the center of the care plan. Clinical Standards • Practice according to current clinical standards and evidence‑based guidelines. Teamwork and Collaboration • Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality care; promote inclusive interdisciplinary communication and respectful environments; engage in performance improvement, research, and shared governance. Professional Development and Initiative • Complete all mandatory competency assessments; serve as preceptor or mentor for nurses and other disciplines. Evidence‑Based Practice and Research • Promote EB practice, nursing research, and performance improvement; participate in value analysis, data collection, and use appropriate resources to answer practice questions. Resources and Support • Plan for patient care across the continuum; develop protocols and procedures to improve outcomes; support efficient use of human and material resources; perform other duties as assigned. Required Minimum Education Associate’s in Nursing or Diploma (RN) Preferred: Bachelor’s in Nursing Required Minimum Licenses and Certifications RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑State Compact) BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS (American Red Cross) or BLS‑I (Instructor) Additional Requirements Minimum 5 years of RN experience; preferred direct patient care experience. Required Minimum Skills Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. Basic computer skills and ability to optimize technology for clinical care. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills. Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond decisively to emergencies with composure and respect. Excellent time‑management, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilities.
