Accountant

The Construction Accountant is responsible for managing financial reporting, job costing, and accounting processes specific to construction projects. This role ensures accurate tracking of project costs, contract billing, and compliance with financial regulations while supporting project managers and leadership with financial insights. Key Responsibilities Manage job costing and maintain accurate cost tracking for multiple construction projects Ability to process change orders, oversee hauling tickets, meet with teams on monthly budgets Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules Handle project billing, including progress billing, time & materials, and AIA billing Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability; identify variances Process accounts payable and receivable related to subcontractors, vendors, and clients Reconcile general ledger accounts and project accounts Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Prepare financial statements and project reports for management Some travel once or twice a month to Tampa or Jacksonville for trainings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based environments Will have an Accounting Assistant reporting to them, so management experience is preferred Strong knowledge of job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting #J-18808-Ljbffr
