Position Estimator – Chicago, IL (Lake Zurich, IL office) Job Summary Performance Contracting seeks an experienced Estimator to perform estimating duties within PCI scopes of work. Responsibilities Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside our self‑performing group Understand market conditions—including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors—for establishing margin percentages Participate in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams Align customer objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relations Administer contracts for secured projects Utilize wage and benefit schedules Hand off secured projects to the Operations team Assist in other duties as assigned such as change‑order management or billings depending on the project(s) Support other Estimating team members for product line collaboration Compensation Salary range: $90,000 – $115,000 per year plus a non‑guaranteed annualized bonus program. This position is safety sensitive. Basic Requirements At least 2 years of estimating experience on construction projects Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods Record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills High level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills Ability to read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On‑Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift Sharp understanding of estimating techniques and the bidding process Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they’re learned Critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline Experience with drywall and framing on commercial construction projects OSHA certification Experience working with union representatives Local to the greater Chicago area Benefits Competitive pay Employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) 401(k) retirement savings plan with match Medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance plans with flexible spending account option Life insurance, AD&D, and disability benefits Employee assistance program (EAP) Flexible paid time off policy and paid holidays Equal Opportunity Statement PCG provides equal employment and affirmative action opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability. #J-18808-Ljbffr Performance Contracting
