Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns in a critical access hospital setting, ensuring safe labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Deliver compassionate, professional support throughout the mother and baby care continuum.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and manage clinical interventions as necessary.
• Support mothers during labor, childbirth, and postpartum recovery.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn safety.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and maintaining compliance with clinical standards.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license required with obstetric or maternal-child certification preferred.
• Proven experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, or mother-baby care setting.
• Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• CPR and NRP certifications required or must be obtained.
