Energy Law & Policy Research Assistant Interdisciplinary

Position Overview Penn State's Center for Energy Law and Policy is seeking multiple research assistants for Summer 2025 and the Academic Year 2025-2026 to support a variety of interdisciplinary research projects. The positions are open to students at all levels—undergraduate, professional, or graduate—with options for those on optional practical training. Responsibilities Research assistants will work with interdisciplinary faculty, staff attorneys, and student teams from law, economics, engineering, and public policy. Duties include collaborating on assigned projects, participating in regular conference calls and discussions, and contributing to research deliverables. For Summer 2025, selected candidates may join research teams focusing on sustainable aviation fuel, renewable natural gas, and off‑grid community development. Qualifications Applicants should submit information on their degree program, GPA, scheduled graduation date (for current students), and a short paragraph outlining research interests and internship objectives. All qualifications are considered regardless of current employment or student status at Penn State. Compensation and Work Hours Selected recipients will receive an internship appointment of up to 10 hours per week at a wage of $14 per hour. Work Environment Approval of remote and hybrid work is not guaranteed regardless of work location.
